Okay, in case you haven't noticed, I am playing a little bit of catch up tonite. Just finished microblogging on Twitter and that was pretty interesting. It was a little hard to pick ones to follow - there are just so many to choose from!! Just a few of them I chose were Bill Cosby (cause I think he's funny), Web MD (cause I like to see the latest updates), Library Journal (cause I love to read) & Sara McFarland (cause I couldn't do my job without her support). I am trying to follow others as well.
I really like the shortness of the tweets, they get right to the point. You don't have to spend much time to get info from them. Me thinks I'm gonna like the tweets!!

Exploring Delicious
Just finished doing the lesson on Delicious and I must confess, I found this one to be a bit of a challenge. After I finally got the hang of it, it was fun to explore the different sites to tag and bundle. I can definitely see the advantage in using tag bundles for presentations. These would be great tools to use in the future - the ease and convenience are definitely worth the little bit of time it takes to set the bundles up. Having the informaion in one place is great! This lesson was definitely worth the time it took me to figure it out!!

RSS Feeds
It's me again... Just finished doing this week's lesson on RSS Feeds. It was really pretty simple. I am really fascinated by the fact that the lessons we have done so far have been so simple! I chose Yahoo News and Kidney Transplant News as my 2 RSS feeds to subscribe to. I scan the news headlines almost every day (time permitting) so that was an easy choice to make. The other choice of Kidney Transplant News is something that I wanted to keep up on as far as the latest and greatest advances, but never seemed to make the time to find a website I wanted to see every day. This just seemed like the time to get it done. I think this excercise took me a whole sum of 30 minutes to do which was great. I think this technology thing is gonna be easier than I ever dreamed! Thanks mentors!!!

Playing on Flickr
Hello again!
Just set up my account on Flickr and it was soooo easy! Picked a really good photo of us librarians @ Halloween dressed up in all our glory. This was way easier than I expected it to be. I don't have a digital camera (yes I know I am still in the dark ages on this one) so had to take one already on the computer. But I do like this picture a lot...shows how much fun we all have here at the library!

Online Meetings
Hi everyone:
Just listened to a webinar titled Lincoln: Ironies, Curiosities & Weird Stuff. Being sort of a history buff, I really enjoyed this webinar. Kim Bauer gave a great presentation on little know facts about Abraham Lincoln. It dawned on me while listening to this webinar that here I am sitting in the comfort of my own home, in my scrubbies listening to a presentation that I would never have gotten to hear if it had not been archived on a meeting website. How cool is that!! I think the meeting webinars are wonderful tools, saving time & precious budget monies for libraries. You can learn so much from them. Take some time to check them out, especially the archieved ones. The advances of technoloy is great!
